Intravenous vs enteral medication costs

When prescribing, please consider enteral administration of these medications first unless it is contraindicated or absorption is thought unlikely. Although individual cost benefits may seem small, when considered for multiple doses for prolonged ICU stays across the whole unit, such savings may be significant for equivalent medical benefit.
